Alcatel has lifted the lid on their 2007 line of fashion handsets ...
Its chrome slider bod' has been dipped in orange, pink, purple, white and yellow-green, and wraps up a 1.3-meg snapper, colour screen and MP3 player. It's also got a nifty necklace with a steel charm to keep your Bluetooth headset safe and sound. At 16.7mm, it's not the skinniest trendsetter on the catwalk, but it's definitely no heffalump either. Something else that's certain is that we wouldn't say no to it taking up residence in our handbag.
Elle Glamphone will be winging its way to the UK in June. Keep it here for retail details coming your way shortly.

Antennas to boost US Cellular phone reception
MARTINSBURG A project to install six cellular panel antennas on the roof of a city public housing building will increase the capacity of cell phone usage during peak hours.
U.S. Cellular Corporation is placing the panel antennas on Ambrose Towers at 703 Porter Ave. to compensate for the area growing number of cell phone users.
Its been a long process,ï said Mike Pacyna, a project manager for U.S. Cellular Morgantown office. It will be nice to have something up there finally.
The building is owned by the Martinsburg Housing Authority. Pacyna said efforts to complete the installation have picked up following storms that stalled work last week. Housing Authority Executive Director Cathy Dodson said she was approached by the cell phone company in March with a request to place antennas on the towers roof.
HP GPS PDAs - rx5700/5935 get v.3.2.2 firmware upgrade - "SN" off ...
After launching their first GPS enabled PDA in 2005 with the hw6515, and upgrading it in 2006 to the hw6915, HP went back to a more standard PDA design with the rx5700/5915 "Travel Companion" that we reviewed in this article. It has proved quite popular thanks to it's sleek format, long battery life, pre-loaded TomTom v6, but some users complained about the problematic "SN" setting that prevented pedestrian use. This has now been fixed in the sp34272/v3.2.2 upgrade made available by HP and some other settings have been changed as well. They are analyzed in detail in >> PAGE 2 of the article. Updated June 9th, 2006 - HP is readying the hw6915, the first GPSPDAPhone with GPS, GSM (Edge data), Bluetooth and WiFi, but they are still improving the 6515 and the...
Calling Your Neighbor May Cost You
Reader Ruth Skiles of Falls Church recently noticed that the minutes on her prepaid AT&T calling card began rapidly disappearing even though she hadn't made any out-of-state calls. That had never happened before in the four years since she bought the card at Sam's Club. She was used to reloading it with minutes via telehone and paying the same low rate whether she called inside Virginia or out. So Ruth called AT&T wanting to know why a call to her neighbor was suddenly depleting many more minutes than a call to a friend in Florida. AT&T's answer is a little convoluted, but we'll do our best to lay it out for you. The in-state rates on prepaid cards shot up because of a recent Federal Communications Commission ruling that is only starting to affect consumers. In 2005, the FCC ruled that AT&T had illegally avoided $500 million in government and other fees on prepaid long-distance phone cards.

Cop resigns after admitting helping prostitute with Web site
MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- A Mesa police officer who helped a prostitute maintain an escort service Web site has resigned, authorities said. Police said they were tipped off to officer Jeffrey Beaulieu's activities after a female co-worker started receiving numerous phone calls from people saying they got her phone number from a call service Web site. Through an investigation, authorities learned Beaulieu accidentally listed his fellow officer's phone number instead of that of the prostitute, police said. Police said the two women have similar names and were both listed in Beaulieu's personal cell phone. Beaulieu, an 11-year veteran, was placed on administrative suspension on Jan. 9 as police started an internal affairs investigation into conduct unbecoming a member of the department.
Mobile Smartphone Software: Documents To Go Coming To Windows ...
DataViz's Docs To Go is the premier application that allows Palm OS users to edit Microsoft Office files. It was announced that a version for Windows Mobile Smartphones will soon be introduced. This application will let users create, view, and edit native Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files. This will be a significant development for the WM Smartphone platform because, unlike Pocket PCs, these devices don't come with Microsoft's Office Mobile. Docs To Go for WM Smartphone will also allow users to view Adobe PDF files and decompress zip files that appear as email attachments. In addition, it will include support for password protected Word and Excel files, as well as charting. InTact This software suite will include DataViz's InTact Technology.
