A powerful 1700mAh is on board and provides the record battery ...
The HP rx5900 is HP's first GPS PDA and unlike the hw6500 and hw6900 GPS PDAPhones that relied on a Globallocate A-GPS enabled chipset, it uses a standard SiRFstarIII platform without Assisted GPS but with more correlation power. The rx5915 adds WiFi to the rx5900 that is already Bluetooth. This review is based on a late prototype so it is possible that performance will be tweaked by the time it is released, something we will revisit if need be. As always, feel free to use the forums if you have questions or comments. COMMENTS AND TEST RESULTS No surprise on the PDA side : a full Windows Mobile 5.0 with an additional simplified welcome menu (quicklaunch) for quick access to the main features, inclusion of the worldmate software for travellers, speedy operation thanks to the Samsung CPU clocked at 400Mhz as on the Eten G500, 3.5" screen with a 320x240 resolution, 2Gb flash memory, Bluetooth, SD memory port, multiple programmable buttons (including one for portrait/landscape rotation), the slightly concave side has a pleasant "rubbery" feel for a good grip and as seen in the pictures above it is very thin.

Samsung Launches 'Music Store' To Battle iTunes
After eons of producing (increasingly decent) MP3 players Samsung has announced it is finally launching its own online digital music store. Called ingeniously Samsung Media Studio' it will go live next month with 2.6m tracks available from day one.
As expected, Samsung has made a concerted effort to undercut Apple subiquitous iTunes by offering individual tracks from just 79p while albums will also be provided as well as unlimited downloads for a 15 monthly subscription.
The launch will coincide with the release of Sammy latest pair of players: the K3 a speaker-less K5 of ultra slinky proportions and the T9B, a Bluetooth version of the D600 style influenced T9. All Sammy players will now ship with a seven day free trial of the Media Studio.
Interestingly, Samsung says it will allow users to burn their downloaded tracks to CD as well as transfer them to their MP3 players though it was n't made clear whether other branded players will be able to access the store.
Senate approves No-Call List for cell phones
New legislation sponsored by Sen. Kevin Engler, R-Farmington, would clear the way for Missourians to add their fax and cell phone numbers to the state No-Call List.
Senate Bill 49, which would also protect those on the No-Call List from automated political calls, already has received first-round approval from the Missouri Senate, according to a news release from Engler office.
Engler said the bill covers phone calls and text messages to cell phones used for personal purposes, a well as residential faxes. The goal, he added, is to end unsolicited advertising that can end up costing recipients money.
On cell phones, you have to pay if you receive a call, and on faxes, you have to pay for paper, ink and other costs of receiving a fax, Engler said in the Feb. 21 release.
Death & Co. is frightening some neighbors on Sixth St.
Death & Co., an upscale new nightspot that serves drinks and appetizers, has attracted glowing reviews and throngs of patrons since it opened at the beginning of January. But the bar and restaurant at 433 E. Sixth St. has also attracted sharp criticism from several neighbors and Community Board 3. In fact, with its ominous name and décor, Death & Co. actually has some neighbors scared, dredging up their worst nightmares while other neighbors say their nights are literally haunted by the bars din. At a Feb. 13 meeting, the State Liquor Authority & Economic Development Committee of C.B. 3 recommended to deny renewal of Death & Co.s liquor license. The committee also recommended that the S.L.A. investigate Death & Co.s proximity to a nearby synagogue, Anshe Meseritz.
Gen Y Seeking Balance between their Work and Lifestyle
TROY, MI, February 09, 2007 - This year staffing experts expect one workplace trend to continue: Gen Y employees seeking balance between their work and lifestyle. A few years ago, two studies confirmed that younger workers were increasingly seeking more than just salary from their employers. Mercer Human Resources Consulting found that 83% of workers in the 18-24 age group were motivated by flexibility, while only 73% were motivated by salary. A Kelly Services study revealed that "Free Agents" (individuals who prioritize work life balance, and who work largely un-tethered to an organization) already represent 28% of the workforce and that Free Agency as a trend will continue to grow thanks in part to Gen Y employees joining the ranks. Additionally, by 2014, the Hispanic labor force is expected to reach 25.8 million, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, with younger Hispanics driving a significant portion of that growth.
