Sony Ericsson Announces Four New Mobile Phones

Sony Ericsson announced four new 'candy bar' phones that make it simple to stay in touch. Of the four, the Sony Ericsson K200 and Sony Ericsson K220 are both camera phones, whilst the K220 again and the J120 bring music into an affordable segment with integrated FM Radios, complete with headsets. All four, including the Sony Ericsson J110, display Sony Ericsson signature styling and premium feel, yet manage to keep simplicity and ease-of-use at the heart of their design.

K200
The K200 is all about having a camera on your phone just when you need it.

The VGA camera and photo album are immediately accessible with just one click on the dedicated button. Given that the K200 has a slideshow view and will store up to 40 images, its easy for users to view their pictures in full screen and share them with friends.

LG Shines with Metallic KE770 Candybar

Metal is seriously increasing in popularity when it comes to cell phone material choices, and LG is hopping all over that bandwagon with a whole family of metallic phones. Today, we introduce you to the KE770, a candybar-style handset that comes wrapped in a full metal jacket too. It will fall under the same "Shine" banner as its other metallic brethren, which include the KE970 slider phone and SV490 flip phone. The exact specifications surrounding the KE770 have not yet been released, but the casing appears to be brushed aluminum. We also spot a camera featuring quite prominently on the KE770's backside, a standard-sized full color display, metal keypad with blue backlight, volume controls on the side, and some sort of integrated music player. Stay tuned for more information as it comes pouring in from Barcelona at 3GSM.

Cisco and Apple Call iPhone Truce

Cisco Systems Inc has called its legal attack dogs off Apple Inc, saying that the two companies have agreed that they can both use the iPhone brand to market their telephones.

The deal includes a vague agreement to "explore opportunities for interoperability in the areas of security, and consumer and enterprise communications".

Cisco will stop suing Apple for trademark infringement. The company filed suit on January 10, the day after Apple's Steve Jobs launched its iPhone marketing campaign at the Macworld show in San Francisco.
