New Slider From LG - KS10

LG made a name for itself in the phone industry last year with it's Chocolate phone. With new products like the Prada, they're ready to compete with the best of them. One of the latest phones that they introduced at 3GSM this week is the KS10. And we managed to snap some pictures while we were there.

The highlights include HSDPA connectivity, allowing for download speeds of up to 1.8Mbps. They put that speed to good use by allowing high-quality streaming TV. They've also got mp3 support if you're not big on TV on the small screen.

Over all, it looks like another stylish phone from LG. It is a slider phone, so that they can maximize the screen size. Personally, I've always liked slider phones. Makes more room for the screen, and my fat fingers tend to have issues dialing on a touchscreen.

LG Smartphone Slider is Fully Internet Capable

We've got another slider phone on our hands, and this time it comes from the crew at LG. The KS10 has several aesthetic similarities to the Nokia N80 smartphone in that both carry a slight bit of girth, come in a similarly shaped package, and both lack a full QWERTY keyboard although they claim to support "full internet browsing capability."

The 2.4-inch QVGA display can be used to view "high quality streaming TV", preview the pictures you'll be taking with the on-board 2.0 megapixel camera with autofocus, and record browsed web pages. The high-speed internet connectivity comes via HSDPA for transfer rates as high as 1.8MB/s. It's unfortunately only got a tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900) radio, so you probably won't be seeing it in North America just yet.

The rest of specs include Bluetooth 1.2, MP3/AAC/AAC+/WMA player, a secondary VGA camera for video calls, Symbian OS Series 60, and microSD expansion slot for good measure.

Asus Unveils Business Friendly 3G -Enabled Pocket PC Phone

Last year Asus unveiled a candy-bar style GPS-enabled Pocket PC Phone that had a lot going for it, except for the omission of a 3G radio. This week the company announced what can only be viewed as an upgrade to the P535, the P735. This smartphone integrates high-speed cellular networking courtesy of UMTS. However, it lacks GPS. You can't have everything it seems.

The P735 is also a candy-bar phone, except it is tablet-style, as the smartphone drops the P535's hard numeric keypad for on-screen dialing. There are navigation controls underneath the display.

Specifications include a 520 MHz Marvell Xscale processor, 256 MB of flash memory, 64 MB of RAM, a miniSD expansion slot, Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, a 1300 mAh Li-Ion battery, and a 2.8-inch QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) display.
