LG Mobile: 2007 Spring/Summer Collection
At 3GSM last week, LG Mobile unveiled its Black Label Series, which includes LG Shine and LG Chocolate, as well as its LG Prada limited edition. The Korean manufacturer also won the 3G for All award delivered by the GSM Association.
Comment: Last week at 3GSM, the LG Mobile stand in the exhibition centre was like Barcelona itself that week: packed and vibrant. The reason behind it was the launch of its 2007 brand new portfolio. LG filled its portfolio with disruptive devices in almost all segments, and is attacking Motorola and Samsung heartlands: design and sliders.
In 2006, LG Mobile shipped 65 million devices - an 18% increase on 2005. The performance was partly due to the success of its KG800, better known under its stage name: LG Chocolate. GSM devices account for approximately 40% of LG's handset sales last year.

Review: Samsung SGH-i520
Showing its traditional strength in slim sliders, Samsung has today introduced the new SGH-i520 S60 smartphone, an attractive device with brains to back up the beauty. While it might not be as thin as some of the company's other handsets, its 17.9mm (0.70") still keeps it pocketable. The new SGH-i520 runs Symbian OS 9.2 with the S60 v3 Feature Pack 1 user interface, bringing a full suite of PIM functions and compatibility with many 3rd party applications. At only 99g (3.49oz), the SGH-i520 does well to include HSDPA and UMTS high-speed data, as well as Bluetooth v2.0+EDR with the A2DP stereo headset profile. A 2.0 megapixel rearward facing camera and front facing camera for video calling are available, and microSD memory cards can be used for gigabytes worth of storage. The 2.3" 262k color TFT display with QVGA resolution gives a crystal clear view to all the phone's functions.
Sony Ericsson's K810 and K550 Cybershot phones: slim 3.2 and 2.0 ...
So in addition to the W880 Walkman, Sony Ericsson dropped a couple of slim Cyber-shot phones into the mix today with the introduction of their new K810 (on left) and K550 Cyber-shot handsets. The feature rich 17-mm K810 boasts an image stabilized 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus and Xenon flash. The K550 packs just a good shootin' 2.0 megapixel cam and LED photo light but does so in a 14-mm form factor. Both devices bring an RM radio with RDS and support for Memory Stick Mico (M2) cards. The K810 has a second cam up front for video calls and goes UMTS 2100 and GSM 900/1800/1900 -- available beginning Q2 2007 in Europe and Asia. The K550 is a quad-band EDGE device that launches in North America from Q2 2007. Er, can we choose again? .
