Mobile Phone Round-Up Of The Week!
Great news for all Nokia lovers with knowledge that the awesome Nokia N95 will be on release in the UK around early-mid March time. No official announcement has been made by Nokia as yet. I just can't wait to get my hand on this little beauty! Motorola have plans to release a load of new handsets for the new year. These include the Moto RIZR Z8, Moto KRZR K3, Moto Q2 HSDPA, Moto Q GSM/EDGE plus a range of budget handsets namely the W360, W205, w510, W395 mobiles. For all you dangerous drivers out there who drive and talk on your mobile phone simultaneously, you'd better watch out! New laws mean you'll now get three points on your licence as well as a £60 fine if you're unlucky enough to get caught. Shame on all of you who do this…I'd never be so irresponsible! The latest must have gadget for mobile phones could well be the BluOnyx Mobile Content Server, a storage solution for your mobile phones when card capacity just isn't enough. The product from Agere Systems allows you to transfer or stream music, video, pictures, business files to or from mobile phones, to any PC, TV or next-gen games console.
Samsung i520 (SGH-i520)
In technological terms, the Samsung i520 is a close match for the Motorola RIZR Z8 slider, which is also an HSDPA capable Symbian smartphone. However, the SGH-i520 can only manage half the download speed of the RIZR Z8.. and beating the Z8's capable software suite will be a tall order. Cosmetically, the SGH-i520 looks just like many other Samsung sliders. We criticised Motorola for not taking risks with the Z8, but the SGH-i520 shows a significant lack of imagination and it doesn't look as good as the Z8. We know that Samsung can design interesting looking handsets, but the design of the i520 is pretty uninspiring - although the "Chocolate" style touch sensitive keys on the outside look quite good. Samsung claim that the i520 will come to market during Q2 2007, however our experience is that Samsung rarely get this type of device to market on time and in any real quantity, so don't hold your breath.
Shiny at 3GSM: Motorola RIZR Z8
I look at the new Motorola RIZR Z8 at 3GSM. It's ergonomically designed, as well as featuring some top spec video features. And more importantly, I discover that the correct way of saying RIZR is 'riser'. To rhyme with 'slider', see? Came straight to this page? Visit www.ShinyShiny.tv for all the latest news.

Motorola delivers new KRZR K3, RIZR Z6 and Z8, and SLVR L9
[Motorola let loose its new GSM portfolio of handsets at 3GSM including the MOTOKRZR K3, MOTORIZR Z8, MOTOSLVR L9, and the MOTORIZR Z6. ] 3GSM World Congress 2007, Barcelona -- MOTOKRZR K3: Incorporating a 'no compromises' use of colour, materials and finishes, MOTOKRZR K3 follows Motorola's iconic MOTOKRZR design language in a powerful clamshell handset that features lightning fast access to rich content through HSDPA connectivity providing instant media downloads and streaming video. MOTOKRZR K3 includes two integrated digital cameras allowing users to share their mobile experiences. An internal VGA camera enables real-time face-to-face video calls between users, while the handset's 2MP digital camera with 8x digital zoom can capture the moment while on the move. MOTOKRZR K3 also features USB 2.0 connectivity, 64MB of onboard memory(2) with a microSD slot and stereo Bluetooth wireless technology providing hands free listening to music and conversations.
Motorola RIZR slider becomes 'fit-to-face' banana-phone
Motorola today announced a heap of tweaks for its more stylish handsets, SLVR, KRZR and RIZR - the latter, for example, employs a new, curved and spring-loaded slider mechanism that creates what the company called a "fit-to-face profile". The RIZR Z8's other attributes include a sharp 2.2in, 240 x 320, 16m-colour display, 90MB of on-board memory, support for 4GB Micro SD cards, Bluetooth stereo wireless, a two-megapixel main camera with 8x zoom, and 3.6Mbps HSDPA downloads. Brits will get Sky's Anytime application bundled on the phone so they can programme a Sky+ satellite TV DVR on the move.
