Motorola delivers new KRZR K3, RIZR Z6 and Z8, and SLVR L9

[Motorola let loose its new GSM portfolio of handsets at 3GSM including the MOTOKRZR K3, MOTORIZR Z8, MOTOSLVR L9, and the MOTORIZR Z6. ]

3GSM World Congress 2007, Barcelona --

MOTOKRZR K3:

Incorporating a 'no compromises' use of colour, materials and finishes, MOTOKRZR K3 follows Motorola's iconic MOTOKRZR design language in a powerful clamshell handset that features lightning fast access to rich content through HSDPA connectivity providing instant media downloads and streaming video.

MOTOKRZR K3 includes two integrated digital cameras allowing users to share their mobile experiences. An internal VGA camera enables real-time face-to-face video calls between users, while the handset's 2MP digital camera with 8x digital zoom can capture the moment while on the move. MOTOKRZR K3 also features USB 2.0 connectivity, 64MB of onboard memory(2) with a microSD slot and stereo Bluetooth wireless technology providing hands free listening to music and conversations.

Motorola SLVR L9 - Slick metal keypad, super slim profile and ...

To my knowledge, there are at least three other MOTOSLVRs out there already (L2, L6, L7), so why not add one more to the bunch to make a nice even quad? Welcome the Motorola SLVR L9. Based on pure aesthetics alone, it's not all that different than the SLVR L7, complete with the slick metal keypad, super slim profile, and large-ish color display.

The main improvement is in the camera, which is now a 2 megapixel unit capable of up to 8x digital zoom. Hop over to the video recording side of things and you're restricted to just 4x digital zoom, but you do get to enjoy full-screen landscape playback. In addition to the built-in music player, there is also an RDS FM tuner, stereo Bluetooth, microSD expansion slot, and 20MB of internal memory.

Stay tuned for pricing information, but we can tell you that it's due "in late Spring."

Motorola's SLVR L9 brings the multimedia

Motorola just busted out their new SLVR L9 handset in Barcelona. The latest SLVR ditches the laser etched keypad and brings a focus on multimedia with an integrated FM radio with RDS support, A2DP stereo Bluetooth, and support for MP3/AAC/AAC+/AAC+ enhanced/ AMR/ WAV ringtones and music. It also comes packin' a 2 megapixel camera with MPEG-4 video capture and Moto's CrystalTalk technology said to enhance conversations in noisy environments. No word on whether this is a tri-band or quad-band SLVR, only that it sports GPRS/EDGE class 10 data. It also features microSD and MegaSIM expansion and up to 400 minutes of talk time and 350 hours of standby time. Ready sometime in Q2... somewhere in the world. More images after the break. .

Shiny at 3GSM: Motorola SLVR L9

I look at the SLVR L9, one of Motorola's new multimedia handsets. This one packs some serious storage, including the capability to work with one of the new MegaSIMs - more details of which can be found on the video, funnily enough.

Samsung F700 (SGH-F700 / Ultra Smart F700) Preview

The Samsung F700 will be officially announced at next week's 3GSM World Congress, but Samsung have given us a brief glimpse of the specifications of this upcoming device in advance.

It's an HSDPA capable 3.5G smartphone, with download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps (where supported), plus UMTS (3G), EDGE and GPRS, but the Samsung F700 does not appear to support WiFi.

The SGH-F700's landscape/portrait mode and slide-out QWERTY keyboard are reminiscent of HTC devices such as the TyTN, but it is quite rare to see other manufacturers with this type of form factor. The Samsung F700 has a 2.8" 440x240 pixel display which is slightly better than most competing smartphones which have just 320x240 pixels. However, it still can't compete with the 800x480 pixel display in the Nokia N800.
