Best of 2005: Nokia N70
The top-end camera phone the N90 and hard disk music playing N91 might have grabbed the headlines, but as innovative as they are both phones are a little too chunky for our tastes. Nokia did however get it spot on with the N70, a classic chocolate bar style handset complete with 3G facilities. It has plenty of excellent features including a two mega pixel camera, solid web browser etc and images from Sky and Voda's TV service looks great on its fabulous screen. It is available on pretty much every 3G network too. If you don't fancy the Sharp 903 this is the phone to buy. Came straight to this page? Visit www.TechDigest.tv for all the latest news. Nokia's 3G take three
Nokia is upping the ante in the 3G phone market once again. With LG selling huge quantities of its 8110 in the UK and Motorola and Samsung with new phones on the horizon Nokia has responded by unveiling its third 3G handset the 6630. Billed as the world's smallest 3G mega pixel camera phone, the 6630 boasts a form factor not unlike Nokia's 3660 - the key difference that it is slightly smaller than that rather bulky handset. The 6630 is also Nokia's first 3G handset to feature the video calling facility so beloved of both Three and Vodafone. Other facilities include a 1.3 mega pixel camera, Symbian OS with Series 60 smartphone interface including e-mail, 74Mb storage, MP3 player, Realone video player and Bluetooth. Annoyingly the phone features an MMC, rather than SD card slot.
Nokia 5500 Sport Music Edition launched

Other features include text-to-speech, Sports mode with pedometer, USB 2.0, Bluetooth and Infrared.

Unboxing the Samsung D900 - slender slider hands-on
Unboxing a new tech-toy is, to some, possibly the best thing about gadgets, and there's something about cellphones that make them particularly pleasant to unwrap. Perhaps it's the knowledge that you're beginning a relationship with something that will accompany you for at least a few months, something that gets brought out every day and is often a solitary source of distraction during periods of boredom. Anyway, enough psychoanalysis - this is all preamble to CrunchGear's unboxing of Samsung's gloriously thin slider the D900 (aka Black Carbon).
While it might be the dimensions that catch your initial interest, it'll likely be the specs that maintain it - Samsung have managed to squish a 3-megapixel camera in there, as well as revamping the user interface with some help from the people at Adobe.
