Operators' push on W-CDMA technology helped to develop new propositions such as Mobile TV or Music, and for the past 15 months Mobile TV standards are in the centre of the debates.

Is That a TV In Your Pocket? - Samsung F510

These days it's all about content on the go. Music, news, TV, you name it. Samsung has been working hard on an update to their Ultra Video F500 so that you can get the best in mobile TV.

Their new F510 has quite a few new features over their old F500. One of the biggest new features is it's ability to play DivX files. This will make it the first phone to have such capabilities. You can also swivel the phone around so that it can stand freely, allowing you to watch your video without holding on to it.

I'm on the road a lot, and I can view some media content on my phone, but I just can't get myself excited about watching media on such a small screen. Although, with a 2.4" screen, the Samsung F510 might be worth looking at.

Mobile TV strives for good reception

Despite industry-wide scepticism that the technology will not take off, several manufacturers revealed DVB-H enabled devices in Barcelona, as Mobile TV takes centre stage at 3GSM.Nokia announced the N77, LG unveiled the KU950 and Samsung announced the F510 Ultra Movie device.Manufacturers are keen to push the technology, despite it receiving a luke warm reception so far in the UK. Last year, Virgin launched the Lobster 700TV, the first true TV phone, but sales figures and a price drop on the handset suggest that so far it has not sold as well as anticipated.Meanwhile, Bluestreak Technology is making its Java platform MachBlue Mobile available for J2ME-compatible mobile phones to access mobile TV.Bluestreak CEO Paul Forostowsky said: 'Bluestreak is already recognized as the leader in bringing rich-media content and services to mobile phones, and by adding J2ME support to our solution we are continuing to expand our competitive lead.

Shiny at 3GSM: Samsung's F510 multimedia phone

It's a bit of a Samsung love-fest here at the moment, as Susi and Ashley are getting hands on with some of the brand's recently announced mobiles. The latest cat out of the bag is this rather sleek F500 multimedia phone, which features a handy swivel function, allowing you to view videos while it's propped up on a table. It can play DivX files, although with the micro SD memory slot, it limits those files to just 2GB. Still, it's a nice piece of kit, one I'd personally love to check out in detail at a later date.voip phone serviceImprove your communications with phone and fax service to grow your company.
