Bang, Olufsen and Samsung's stylish phone
Bang and Olufsen have released a stylish cell phone, powered by Samsung, costing a whopping $1,275. The cell phone is called Serene and it is promoted more like a companion rather than an expensive phone. The makers of chic, high range stereos, televisions and cordless phones, Bang & Olufsen, have lend a lot of their sophistication and finesse to this new phone and in collaboration with cell phone veterans Samsung have developed a truly different cell phone. Rumors have been abuzz for a while about Apple releasing its first cell phone but nothing has been so far. So what one gets instead is Serene which has many iPODish qualities and features completely different from a conventional cell phone. .
Siemens revives the lady phone
Siemens certainly loves its lady phones. After dabbling with the unusual and sadly ill-fated Xelibri range last year the company is at it again with the CL75 handset it unveiled today in Paris. Billed as the first mobile phone designed by women, for women it apparently has soft, smooth contours and a "Silk Flower" motif. It weighs a handbag-friendly 90g, and opens to reveal a large colour display with 262,000 vivid colours. The display also doubles as pocket mirror so women can check their make-up on the move. Siemens has kept the gadget count high kitting out the phone with a built-in digital still//video camera, 11MB memory, Push and Talk technology and Instant Messaging.
To reflect the femininity of the phone, Siemens has commissioned one of the world's leading experts on perfume, Roja Dove, to create a bespoke fragrance inspired by the handset.
